Life delivers ups and downs to everyone.
Are we hard-wired to have a positive or a negative attitude? What makes some people see the sunny-side even when life deals them lemons, and the opposite is true with those who see darkness at every corner. I believe it starts early: extreme stressors in childhood, e.g., poverty, being a child of divorce, early parental death. Any or all of these whittles away at positivity. It's fair to say that children do not think about objectives and goals, We, as adults, can consider options and attempt to turn things around if we believe it to be so. I know it sounds simplistic, but if we believe we can...we can. If we have trust in ourselves to find-a-way, we will. Make your list and start checking off the easy ones first. If your situation seems insurmountable, seek the advice of someone you trust. And as Glenda, the good witch said to Dorothy, in the Wizard of Oz - "you always had the ability to return to Kansas" and each one of us has the ability to achieve our dreams and our goals and move forward rather than backward.
